桥英语读后感篇1

the call of the wild is london’s most-read book, and generally considered his best, the most masterpiece of his so-called “early period”。 the story was set in 19th-century klondike gold rush, in which sled dogs were bought at generous prices.

buck was a domestic dog in judge miller’s home and living a comfortable life until he was sold secretly by the poor gardener and became a sled dog. buck was a bernard dog weighed one hundred and forty pounds, tall, strong, and heavy muscled. he couldn’t accommodate to the harsh condition at first. and he wanted to fight, to escape, to go back to his cozy home, but in vain.

the man in red taught him the law of stick and club—one must first adjust himself to his surroundings and learn the rules, and only after that he can do what he wants to do. the club of the man in red called back buck’s nature as a dog.

when he firstly served for fran?ois and perrault, two couriers, he showed his superior ability to adapt to the environment and his smartness to learn everything he wanted to learn. curly’s death astonished him and taught him to be cautious. and before he had recovered from the shock caused by the tragic passing of curly, he was harnessed as a sled dog and step by step wanted to be the leader. but the leading dog, spitz, was already an excellent one, who also considered buck as enemy and potential competitor. at last, when spitz once punished him, hurling backward buck, he knew the time had come. he killed spitz and took his place.

when they pulled into dawson, buck was sold as useless thing to three gold diggers, who weren’t veteran in sledding and even didn’t know how to get to their destination. food was eaten up half way. so charles, one of the three, decided to kill buck when he couldn’t get up. however, when he aimed at buck, john thornton sprang upon him, knocked him down and told him that if charles stroke buck, thornton would kill him.

thus, thornton took buck away. he was the only true friend of buck. but buck was a thing of the wild, especially when the calling of wolf from the hills. once when he came back from hills, he found that thornton was killed by indians. what would you do if you were buck when your beloved friend was killed? buck became a nut and killed those headsmen and stayed with thornton for two days and nights, never leaving thornton out of his sight. and then a nearby wolf howl captures his ears, and he follows the sound to an approaching wolf pack, battling several of these creatures to prove his worth.

桥英语读后感篇3

recently, i have reading the book "jane eyre”。 although i forgot some details in the book, jane gave me deeply impression, i admire her very much. after that the teacher also told us to put the play in to a movie, and then we all can touch each hero’s soul in the book. the play it mainly tell us how jane is growing up when suffering from great difficulties and painless. whats more, it is impressed me that she still love her master even if he is blind at last due to rescue his mad wife.

and i like the classic lines what jane said to mr. rochester :"do you think i can stay to become nothing to you? do you think i am an automaton?--a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? do you think, because i am poor, obscure, plain, and little, i am soulless and heartless? you think wrong!--i have as much soul as you,--and full as much heart! and if god had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, i should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you.

i am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh;--it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at gods feet, equal,--as we are!" its so beautiful, jane is a girl who will never lose confidence in life and always sensible when handling with some motional problems. jane was huge in my heart. she can control her life and fate. she knew how to continue her life and she got it!

maybe after what she told me i have known that what love is and how to love and to be loved! the book is a book worth of reading, so all in all let’s enjoy it!

桥英语读后感篇5

impression after reading ode to a nightingale

after reading ode to a nightingale, i felt my blood boiled, i was on fire and full of enthusiasm and just could not calm down. it is so romantic and i had been touched so much. in fact, although the title of the poem is “ode to a nightingale”, throughout the poem, it has basically little words describing the nightingale directly however the writer mainly uses the graceful image of nightingale to express his own feelings. it is said that a nightingale will die on a full moon night. and at midnight, it will fly to the highest rose-tree, and uses the thorn scratch its chest, then makes out a sonorous sound, singing loudly until the blood of the heart dries and reds the roses on the branches. meanwhile this sound of singing seems like could penetrate everywhere and everything and keep an eternal life. i see the energy and hope of life and a bright future, and suddenly get courage and become positive. i think the poem makes me feel in that way.

and the author of ode to nightingale is john keats who is a romantic poet from uk. he was born at a poor family in the end of 18 century in london. in 1818, when keats was 23 years old he got tuberculosis while also was deeply in love with miss fannie boone. just under such a terrible condition which between agony, poverty and sweetness, keats was quite enthusiastic, full of grief and indignation and kept the desire for life in his heart. therefore, he wrote the poem ode to a nightingale on a sober night and companied with the loud sound of the birds.

it is acknowledged that the poet was in difficulties and tied out however at this time he heard the nightingale’s loud singing like an inspiring ring. his heart was moved by such sound of singing. i remember the poem was written like this, “that i may drink, and leave the world unseen, and with thee fade away into the forest dim. fade far away, dissolve, and quite forget what thou amongst the leaves hast never known, the weariness, the fever, and the fret here, where men sit and hear each other groan; where palsy shakes a few, sad, last grey hairs.” the soft night and beautiful surroundings make keats feel comfortable and enjoyable. even though he does not know the names of the flowers, he feels them by heart and soul. what’ more, he absorbs in this world and hope he can always live in such a place where is far from that dark society. ode to a nightingale has a clear feature of romance, keats uses perfect metaphors, gorgeous and quite fluent words to express his strong ideas and deep desire to free world. and i consider the british romance style reaches perfection from keats.
