pride and prejudice is a novel written by jane austen,an english writer, who first gave the novel its modern characters through the treatment of everyday life.“it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in poeion of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.however little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighborhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.” the novel directly begins with the theme: marriage and money.jane austen imposed her view of marriage on her describing of relationship among different males and females.according to the novel, males and females in some degree have diffident values towards marriage.through some main characters, we can have a comparison.

first, we throw our eyes to the male characters.take george wickham for example, he is an old acquaintance of darcy from childhood, and an officer in the militia unit stationed near merton.superficially charming, he rapidly forms a friendship with elizabeth benet, prompting remarks upon his suitability as a potential husband.he spreads numerous tales about the wrongs darcy has done to him, coloring the popular perception of the other man in local society.it is eventually revealed that these tales are distortions, and that darcy was the wronged man in their acquaintance.he is a man with bad quality, but his appearance is deceptive, he has a witty tongue and elegant behavior, who is a deadly attraction to women like lydia.once he was addicted to gambling and escape from breton because of a large amount of debts.lydia has neither high status nor money, but he is willing to have an accompanier on his escaping way.the book never mentioned why wickham choose lydia as his wife.the primary reason, in my eyes, is money.because he fell in love with mi king and elizabeth before not because of love but money.at that time, wickham can not have a large heritage because of his lower social status, so he is greedier for money.at last, mr.darcy helped him to pay for his debts and provided him with another 1000 pounds and a official position, which immediately led to his marriage.so we can easily see, in spite of paion, money played an important role in their marriage.besides, mr.collins aged twenty-five, is mr.benet’s clergyman cousin and, as mr.benet has no son, heir to his estate.austen described him as "not a sensible man, and the deficiency of nature had been but little aisted by education or society.” he is a clumsy and conceit man and good at flattering, so he can easily appreciated

by mrs.catherine and gets a position in church.mr.collins chose lady lucas obviously attributed to love.he expreed his reasons about marriage when he asked for elizabeth’s hands:” first, that i think it a right thing for every clergyman in easy circumstances (like myself) to set the example of matrimony in his parish.secondly, that i can convinced it will add every greatly to my happine; and thirdly which perhaps i ought to have mentioned earlier, that it is the particular advice and recommendation of the very noble lady whom i have the honor of calling patrone.” so mr.collins is a person who sacrifices his marriage to reality and reputation.

in spite of mr.bingley and mr.darcy’s values, i think, wickham and mr.collins’s attitudes toward marriage should be the majority of values at that time.males pursue high status and money rather than love.so how could they be happy? their marriages are doomed to tragedies.

now we will throw our eyes back to females.of course, elizabeth benet is our first consideration.elizabeth bennet is the main character and protagonist.the reader sees the unfolding plot and the other characters mostly from her viewpoint.the second of the benet daughters at twenty years old, she is intelligent, lively, attractive, and witty, but with a tendency to judge on first impreions and perhaps to be a little selective of the evidence upon which she bases her judgments.elizabeth believed that marriage must be based on love, which is one of the reasons why she misunderstood mr.darcy before.she is such a girl with great wit, courage and self-conscience so that she is not polluted by society and keeps her own opinions.and at last grasped mr.darcy’s heart tightly and live a happy life.in contrast to elizabeth, her intimate friend charlotte lucas doesn’t think highly either of men or of matrimony, marriage had always been her object.she believes that it is the only honorable provision for well-educated young women of small fortune, and however uncertain of giving happine, must be their pleasantest preservative from want.so although mr.collins to be sure was neither sensible nor agreeable; his society was irksome, and his attachment to her must be imaginary.but still, he would be her husband.this is a miserable marriage which put interest ahead of everything.

it seems a little bit difference between males and females’ attitudes towards marriage.males completely regard money and status beyond everything while women conceal something in some degree but still be obseed by reality.elizabeth is an exception.jane austen expreed

marriage and love vividly among gentlemen and ladies around her by her specific female foresight.she criticized the civil marriages through elizabeth’s tongue.it was obviously that the author not approved that money should be totally divided with love, but not equal to love.it was true that money played an important role in marriage, but it not means one can gain love and marriage through his big fortune.the author made full of other ladies’ relationships to expre the ideal marriage of elizabeth.

i have the same opinion with jane austen on marriage and love.according to the novel, the marriage based on money and reputation is not stable at all and people can not feel happy.whether you admit or not, marriage and love do sometimes aociate with property and status, in my eyes, it not completely lies on property and status.marriage should be based on mutual love and respect.

statue of the legislation in the city center onto a piece of pure gold. his eyes are two bright sapphires, there is a big ruby in his hand holds the hilt on sparkling. can to help poor people, the flying swallow with the help of the pure gold and precious stones film gave people in need of help. finally, the flying swallow has been frozen to death. the happy prince is also due to dilapidated and were removed. later, someone asked the happy prince: do you help others, they destroyed themselves, worth it? the happy prince without regret to say: as long as i have made to give others happiness, i have been happier. is certainly worthwhile.

yes ah, this is how a simple if it! others happy, is his happiness. our happiness based on other people"s happiness above. britain"s prince fan zhongyan ancients of china"s first and worry about all over the world, after everyone else to enjoy, the famous saying. which is not that we are advocating the moral life it?

on the initiative of such thinking, in our lives appear as numerous as the happy prince, it is respected.

however, i can not do. i am afraid of hardship, fear of pay. in a school clean-up, i only taught me the work, it was unwilling to help the students complete the common task of tired and dirty. normally, also pick and choose in the labor, the lack of the spirit to endure hardship. in learning too afraid repeatedly practicing the task view. do not want to study in depth.

today truly understand: i the usual so-called happiness and the happy prince"s happiness is essentially the difference.

everybody has read a famous masterpiece - "treasure island", treasure island english reading. the book revolves around an adventure story, in which a young man was born in a poor home to make a living in a hotel. the boy is the hero of the book, jim. hawkins. he stumbled upon a map of a desert island where old pirates hid gold and silver. so, he and other friends to discuss, with a group of seaman embarked on a trip to find. but soon, they were a group of seaman mutiny, the two sides keen on the battlefield, they launched a thrilling fight with the enemy. finally, because all the efforts of the crew, charged to victory, jim soon, they carried the wealth jubilantly with the home.

although i did not go there in person adventure, but in my mind, always emerge a picture, jim his honest face always appeared in his side, he is so noble, kind, brave, he is always able to subdue the pirates, victory, he is so brave! when i heard him this sentence shaking shock, such as this one: we see the land that night, i was in the apple barrel, i heard you, john, and dick johnson. - you, it is a chinese, he is now at the bottom of the sea, i am still a little while, every word you said the report, the "treasure island" in english reading. as for the schooner? it made me cut off the ropes of the ship. it was i who killed you on the ship...... when i saw these, i was very shocked, a juvenile can have so much courage to say these, which i admire.

of course, i admire people who have a resentment of the people, such as silver as the representative of the people, in their body are hypocritical, presumptuous, evil, they kill the lives of others for themselves, they do not feel guilty for what you have done, but more and more rampant. think of the money the brain is empty, finally only kill the idea, to a mans throat cut, run amuck. let my mind they all come out with a pair of ferocious terror ningxiao eyes with a seaman knife killed many people crazy, only for their own benefit and loss of humanity.

although the novel is genuine, his work embodies a sharp confrontation between good and evil. i think the story warns us not to do anything selfish, because it is the wrong way in your life, and jim is a kind of spiritual wealth represented by justice.

its simple plot relates the misfortunes of the loyal christian slave, tom, who, deprived of familial love and affection and destined for the harsh life of plantation slavery, doesn’t rebel or curse god, but philosophically accepts his cruel fate. he could leap overboard cold river to save the drowning daughter of a wealthy white passenger who gratefully rewards the brave negro by buying him.

tom seems destined, now, to live out his life in a pleasant new orleans mansion, spending his days reading bible aloud and singing religious hymns with the angelic little eva. but the child dies of tuberculosis, having first elicited a promise from her father to free the loyal tom. the father is killed , however, in a brawl before he can fulfill his pledge and his widow is forced to sell tom, who bees the property of the heartless simon legree. he soon learns how really harsh the life of plantation can be, but he remains true to his religious training, elated by his pious acceptance of god’s will. harassed by the evil legree ,tom displays his christian charity by refusing to flog another slave 。simon legree may not own tom’s soul ,but he can do as he chooses with the body, and he orders two of his slaves, sambo and quimba, to whip the unresisting tom, whose only responses to the merciless beating is a plea to stop in order that legree might save his own soul.

on his deathbed, tom charitably forgives the harsh legree. ironically, he lives long enough to witness the arrival of his former master’s son, e to redeem the family pledge by buying him back and granting his freedom.

the theme of uncle tom’s cabin, for its all apparent simplicity, is representative of much of 19th century american fiction of the good man opposed by evil personified under the circumstance of slavery.

what strikes me is tom’s loyalty to his religious belief. all of us has our own belief , it plays a most important part in our life, it supports us whenever we are caught in rough conditions ,it helps us get out of the dark to see the sunrise, it teach us how to adapt ourselves to different circumstances.

life is full of ups and downs; we should hold our belief to fight against them to realize our goals!

in the winter holiday.i read a book.it is very wonderful.its name is "the monkeys paw".the book tells about the whites and a paws story.mr.whites friend gave him a small and dirty paw.he said "it can makes your dreams come true.but youll feel unhappy."mr.white wanted ?3000.and after some days,he got ?3000,but his son deid.the end is mr.white and his wife were very sad.

i think “the monkeys paw” is very useful.because it tells us some important things.such as "get something for nothing." is impossible.we must do every things by ourselves.and we must know learn by doing.

when i was 10 years old.i was not good at math.and i had tried to find many escape solutions.but no one is good for me.my mother tolds me,"learn by doing",and i did some test questions.now,my math is ok.i think my story likes "the monkeys paw".and in the new future,i will do every things by my self and do not rely on my father and mother.i know i am the best.

growing up in solitude and struggling in pain, this is oliver twist, an orphan in foggy city written by charles dickens.

oliver grew up in a workhouse. he never felt the warmth of his mothers love and family. he always lived in hell. at the age of nine, mr. bumble sent him to the home of a mortician named sulbury as an assistant, but it was no better or worse than the workhouse, so oliver could not bear the inhumane life and fled here, ready to go to the "fog city" - london.

when he arrived in london, he met two evil doers, one was the robber sikes, the other was the thief fagin. later fagin wanted to train him to be a thief, because he became a thief, and the mystery of his life was also revealed.

olivers coming to london is not necessarily a good thing, but it must not be a bad thing. because although he met fagin, he also met many good people: nancy, who is also good and evil, mr. brownlow, who is kind-hearted

this book describes an optimistic oliver, no matter the orphans life or his lonely and painful childhood, he doesnt complain. and we have a warm family from birth to now, but every day is full of all kinds of complaints, we should be like him, "no complaints, no complaints"。

the fox said to the little prince, "i tell you the secret, it is very simple: only the heart can see. what is essential is invisible to the naked eye.

the beauty of many things, the heart can see the essence.

a picture of a boa constrictor, a "unique" feeling of being domesticated, a laughing star, a well of singing wells... it is the complexity of the world that makes simplicity and simplicity a luxury, the simplest of all, as if only the unworldly child would know.

it is a naive fairy tale for children and a sentimental novel for adults.

a little prince from b612 was going on a trip, and he wept, and he did all the preparations before his departure, on the little planet of one man, one rose, and three volcanoes.
